This Isn’t Another Steakhouse Franchise
Doe’s started in 1941 when Dominick “Big Doe” Signa turned his grocery store into something the Delta had never seen. It all started with the hot tamales. Then came the steaks.
The honky-tonk became the kitchen. The kitchen became the entrance. And walking past that open broiler, smelling those hand-cut steaks, became a ritual that presidents, farmers, lawyers, and travelers have made for over 80 years.
In 2007, Doe’s Eat Place became the first restaurant in Mississippi to receive the James Beard Foundation America’s Classics Award. This honor is reserved for locally owned restaurants with timeless appeal that reflect the character, history, and traditions of their communities.
This isn’t about opening a restaurant. It’s about becoming the third place in your town where wedding anniversaries and birthdays turn into family traditions, where everyone sits elbow-to-elbow, where your staff knows every customer’s name.
